There are 7 agonists of EGFR (Her 1)
Activation of EGFR triggers 3 pathways : PI3K/AKT,
Ras-MAPK, and STAT
Activation of any of the 4 Her receptors involves homo (for instance Her1/Her 1) or heterodimerization (for instance Her1/Her 2)
As of early 2010 the agonist of Her 2 is not known, and Her 3 lacks kinase activity (but can activate through heterodimerization, or by binding).
Activated EGFR can heterodimerize with and phosphorylate Her3, which binds to and activates PI3K..
