This RNA codes for neuramidinase

Under the influence of neuramidinase inhibitors,  mutations may occur, for instance replacement of a Cytidine (C) nucleoside by Thymidine (T)

This induces  replacement of an amino acid, in this case histidine, by tyrosine

This can cause an acquired resistance to a

neuramidinase inhibitor

So as to gain better understanding of resistance and of possible therapeutic routes very many strains of influenza virus have been sequenced ;
