Signs of roquefortine intoxication are essenrially neurological
- In dogs ; vomiting, tremors, ataxia (Naude);
- possibly paralysis (Tiwary), but description does not eliminate ataxia, which is induced in mice by roquefortine IP;
- in cockerels (Wagener): loss of balance, spasms of muscles and legs;
- in mice: trembling, lethargy, muscle contraction, ataxia
- in humans : a man who (Cole) ingested 30 ml of beer from a can contaminated by P. crustosum exhibited diplopia, vomiting, tremors, weakness.
SILAGE
Penicilliun crustosum is the most common species of Penicillium isolated from food wastes of private households
